The honest version

Is this for us?

Sometimes the answer is no, and it is cheaper for both of us to find that out on this page than on a call. Here is what The Learning Loop is, what it is not, and who it suits badly.

The Learning Loop is not a school and it is not accredited

Some homeschooling families require an accredited provider, and that provider holds the records, the assessments and the certification. The Learning Loop does not replace that and cannot. It sits alongside it and does the part your provider does not: planning the year, writing the lessons, and printing material shaped around your child.

Whatever your provider requires of you, you still owe them. The Learning Loop makes those weeks easier to actually teach.

The Learning Loop suits you if

You are teaching a child who needs the page to change

Dyslexia, low vision, attention difficulties, a chronic illness that eats half the week. This is the thing The Learning Loop was built for.

You are short of time and long on guilt

Planning a week takes an evening you do not have. Oakley does the planning and the printing so the hours you do have go on teaching.

You have a method you believe in

Charlotte Mason, Classical, Montessori, Traditional, Unit Studies or Mastery Drill — or a different one per subject — and you want a planner that follows it properly rather than printing worksheets whatever you pick.

You want your child’s information to stay yours

Nothing about your child is uploaded anywhere. No account, no server, no company holding a file about their disabilities.

The Learning Loop is wrong for you if

You want accreditation, transcripts or grades

The Learning Loop tracks neither credit hours nor grades, and says so on every report it produces. Your provider does that part.

You want your child on a screen doing lessons

The Learning Loop produces paper. The child’s side is not built, and pretending otherwise would waste your money.

You need it on a phone, or on several computers

It runs on one computer, the one you install it on. There is no sync — that is the trade for nothing leaving your machine.

You would rather not deal with a setup step

The Learning Loop runs on your own Anthropic account, which you create and are billed for directly. I walk you through it, but it is a step, and some people would rather pay a subscription and never think about it.

What is checked, and what is not

Every page The Learning Loop produces says which kind it is, in a line at the bottom. This is that same distinction, before you pay for anything.

Proved correct

Arithmetic

Problems are built backwards from the answer, then re-solved by a separate checker that shares no code with the thing that made them. A sheet that fails to re-solve is replaced with a page saying so — it is never quietly printed.

Checked, not proved

Everything else

Lessons, reading passages, science, history. These are checked for reading level and for fitting your chosen method, and they are measured before you see them — but they are not independently answer-verified the way the maths is. Read them before you teach them.

Where your child’s information goes

Nowhere. Names, ages, learning needs, what they did this week — all of it is stored by the browser on your own computer. There is no account to create, no server holding it, and nothing for anyone to breach. The Learning Loop gives you a “Save a copy” button and reminds you to use it.

The writing is done by Claude, which means the lesson or passage being written is sent to Anthropic under your own account. What is sent about your child is their age, grade, learning differences, interests, language and country; never their name, except in a progress report you ask for. The privacy page says this in the same words.

See a worksheet change Still the best way to tell whether this fits your child.
